The project starts with a fully restored Mini MK5 Sports pack body shell—the final derivative released before Mini’s 2001 discontinuation of the classic platform. This foundation ensures historical authenticity while providing a blank canvas for contemporary enhancements.

Exterior Revisions: Modernizing a Legend

  • Bumper Redesign: Custom front and rear bumper extensions blend classic lines with subtle aerodynamic improvements, maintaining the Mini’s signature proportions.
  • Widebody Elements: Wood & Pickett’s flared wheel arches add 20mm of width per side, accommodating larger wheels while preserving the car’s compact stance.
  • Lighting Upgrades: Full LED front and rear light clusters replace original units, combining period-correct styling with modern visibility.
  • Wheels & Finish: Callum-designed 13-inch alloy wheels feature a six-spoke layout inspired by vintage racing Minis, shod in period-appropriate tires. The body wears a custom-mixed anthracite metallic paint, complemented by polished stainless steel trim.

Engineering Foundations

While aesthetic updates dominate the project’s narrative, underlying chassis improvements include revised suspension geometry and modern braking components—though specific technical details remain tailored to maintain the Mini’s agile driving character. The collaboration exemplifies how heritage models can be reimagined for the modern era without sacrificing their iconic DNA.
